A 48-year-old driver was killed when a semi carrying diesel fuel rolled Tuesday morning south of Meadow Lake, according to the local RCMP detachment.
The rollover led to the closure of Highway 4 approximately 30 kilometres south of the community and created a detour more than 70 kilometres long.
On Wednesday, the RCMP said the highway had reopened, and the Meadow Lake Fire Department was working to clean up the fuel spilled at the site.
According to police, the driver of the semi was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was the only person in the truck, police said, and his family has been notified.
The Mounties said they are still investigating the rollover.
