Saskatchewan’s big game draw has been extended after technical issues affected access to the draw this week.
The deadline for the Saskatchewan big game draw and the Canadian resident white-tailed deer draw was Wednesday evening, but the Ministry of Environment ran into an issue with the system it used to verify Saskatchewan residency. According to the ministry, the issue affected access to both draws.
To ensure the draws remain fair and transparent, both deadlines were extend to next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
“The ministry apologizes for this issue and for the frustration clients may have experienced when trying to submit applications,” read a statement from the Ministry of Environment. “Hunters who successfully submitted an application are unaffected but are able to edit previously submitted applications during the extended deadline.”
Hunters were encouraged to apply early for the draw.
