An incident on the Cumberland House Cree Nation involving shots being fired from a house ended early Thursday evening.
The RCMP didn’t provide any details about how the call ended, but did say there wasn’t any further risk to the public.
The Mounties said the Critical Incident Response Team was still on the scene.
Just after 1 p.m., the RCMP issued a public safety alert after a man with a rifle was seen in the area of Pemmican Portage Avenue.
Residents were urged to lock their doors and windows and stay inside their homes after police got the call.
Then, just before 3:30 p.m., the RCMP said shots had been fired from a house on that street.
Three hours after that media release, the Mounties issued another saying the incident had concluded.
More details are expected to be released Friday.
