Operation Red Nose is once again looking for a group to host the safe ride service this holiday season in Regina.
It’s looking for an organization that’s involved with youth or amateur sports to step up to provide the service for the first time since 2018.
Operation Red Nose said in a news release the successful group will be able to offer financial support to its favourite local cause and also “enjoy an experience that brings in a wealth of stories and memorable encounters, all while ensuring their fellow citizens a safe ride home.”
Donations riders make to use the service are kept, entirely, by the host organization. Operation Red Nose said every year the local host organizations across the country raise close to $2 million through donations and local sponsors.
The service was paused during the pandemic and wasn’t offered in Regina in 2019 as the previous host ended its support of the service.
Operation Red Nose is hoped to be offered from Nov. 25 to Dec. 31 this year. Any organization wanting to apply to host must apply by Aug. 1.
