The Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) received several calls about a structure fire Saturday night in the Westview neighbourhood.
It was located at the apartment complex of Westview Place, just off 33rd Street.
SFD sent out multiple engines and units along with the Battalion Chief to the scene at 9:55 pm.
The first crew that arrived was able to determine the fire was coming from the second floor of a three-storey unit in the complex.
Fire crews would later determine it started in a bedroom.
Just after 10 p.m., fire crews began to extinguish the flaming fire, and was under control shortly after.
According to reports, the unit was vacant at the time with nobody living inside the building.
An estimate of the total damage currently stands at $75,000 dollars and the cause of the fire is suspicious.
