The Saskatoon police and Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations are putting out a call to help find a missing woman and a seven-year-old boy.
Dawn Walker, 48, was last seen on Friday at 6 p.m. at a business on the 300 block of Owen Manor in Saskatoon.
Police believe she may be with a seven-year-old boy.
“There are concerns about Dawn Walker’s well-being as she has not been in contact with friends or family which is out of character,” the Saskatoon police said in a release issued early Monday.
In an update Monday afternoon, police said Walker’s red Ford F150 had been found about 9 a.m. Monday at Chief Whitecap Park, just south of Saskatoon. Some personal belongings also were found, while police revealed Walker’s purse had been found Saturday and was turned in to the RCMP.
As a result, the police were planning to search the South Saskatchewan River.
Police asked people to refrain from visiting Chief Whitecap Park so the investigation could continue.
Walker is 5-foot-5 with a medium build, blonde hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
