Over 3,000 stuffed animals were tossed onto the ice.
The Toronto Blue Jays’ Chris Coghlan produced a highlight Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals that likely earns him a spot in team lore right next to the famed Jose Bautista bat-flip from the 2015 MLB playoffs.
The Jays were tied 2-2 with the Cards in the 7th inning. Coghlan got walked, then took off running on a Kevin Pillar triple to deep right field.
Cardinals’ outfielder Stephen Piscotty tossed to home plate as Coghlan steamed ahead.
St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina bent down to pick up the ball on the third base line and Coghlan entered the history books with a gravity-defying front flip directly over the catcher’s head to score.
The Jays went on to win the game 6-5.
