Officers with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes unit have asked for help from the public as they investigate the suspicious death of a 33-year-old man.
Police said Kenneth Henderson, a resident of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation, died sometime between Nov. 8 and Tuesday, when his body was found near the community of Weyakwin.
Police said Henderson’s remains were found at the boat launch area on the west side of Montreal Lake. His family has been notified of the death, the RCMP said.
The death has been deemed suspicious by investigators, and on Wednesday, the RCMP asked the public to report any suspicious activity that might have been spotted in Weyawkin, at the boat launch or in the surrounding areas at any point from Nov. 8 until Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the RCMP said, the investigation into Henderson’s death continues. It now includes officers from Major Crimes and RCMP Forensic Identification Services, as well as the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.
