Regina-area school buses cancelled due to extreme cold

With wind chills nearing -50 C in and around Regina, many school buses won’t be operating on what is the last day of classes for most students.

Regina Public Schools and the Regina Catholic School Division say they have cancelled school buses, but note their schools will remain open.

As for the Prairie Valley School Division (PVSD), school bus routes transporting students in the Regina and Indian Head areas have been cancelled.

The PVSD expects its buses to operate in the afternoon and says any planned curricular or extracurricular trips scheduled to depart before noon will be cancelled as well.

If conditions don’t improve and buses need to be cancelled this afternoon, a notification will be sent to parents at 1 p.m.

Parents are being asked to report any absences to their child’s school.
