Edmonton Oilers prospect Jake Chiasson, acquired from the Brandon Wheat Kings before Tuesday’s Western Hockey League trade deadline, earned an assist in the Blades’ 3-1 loss to the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday at SaskTel Centre.
Vaughn Watterodt continued his incredible scoring stretch. The Rosetown native recorded his 16th goal in his last 20 games, and his fourth goal in his last five.
The loss drops the Blades’ record to 26-7-2-1, good for second in the East Division.
The Blue and Gold travel to Regina on Friday to face Connor Bedard and the Pats.
