Regina residents are being asked for their opinion on Wascana Centre.
The Wascana Centre Master Plan is to be renewed in 2023, and public input is a key component of that renewal.
“The master plan is a vital part of the history, growth and legacy of Wascana Centre,” Don McMorris, the minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission, said in a media release. “Since 1962, the master plan has allowed us to develop a shared vision of Wascana Centre and we welcome the public’s input on the future of the park.”
The master plan examines appropriate uses of buildings, recreational facilities, ecological reserves, roads and landscape features. The master plan evaluates best practices in environmental sustainability, public access and the priorities for the space.
The Provincial Capital Commission’s policies require a review and renewal to be done in five stages, and this year’s must be completed by December.
The Public Participation Plan and additional information about the master plan can be found at Wascana.ca. More information is to be released later in January.
