Regina police were still investigating Monday evening after getting reports in the morning that shots had been fired on Edgar Street near Ross Avenue.
That’s right by the Cosmopolitan Learning Centre.
The call came in at around 8:45 a.m. Just after 10 a.m., police asked people in the area to shelter in place and drivers to stay clear.
A driver for the school said they were dropping off their passengers at the time.
“The one lady was taking the one wheelchair and I was coming back to the van and it was just a huge shot,” the driver said. “Now, you don’t know if it’s a backfire. You don’t ever think you want it to be a shot, so it’s like, ‘Holy crap.’ I almost vibrated and then I was out of here.”
Just before 12:30 p.m., police tweeted that the operation was concluded and that people could “resume their regular activities.”
At 4:30 p.m., police said in a statement that the investigation was continuing and, since there were still some reports to be filed, there wouldn’t be any more information released until Tuesday.
The police did say no one was injured in the incident.
