A 13-year-old boy in Regina is facing charges after a synagogue and a school was broken into and vandalized on the weekend.
The incident took place sometime between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday. The boy will not be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Regina police said the boy damaged the inside of the place of worship including spraying graffiti on the walls. Other items, including furniture, were also broken or moved around.
Police said the property damage was serious but there was no indication of it being a hate crime.
The boy faces break and enter charges along with a charge of mischief over $5,000 dollars. He appeared in court on Monday morning.
