Whether you’ve been dumped or were just missed by Cupid’s arrow this year, Winston’s English Pub in Saskatoon has you covered.
The bar is marking the 16th year of its Anti-Valentine’s Day Celebration on Tuesday.
Chris Beavis, general manager of Winston’s, said the tradition started with a fellow staff member who was single and decided to turn the day around, catering to those who want to celebrate their independence.
“There’s a heck of a lot of people that are not with somebody and really don’t like the day,” Beavis said.
The celebration has gained traction over the years, according to Beavis, who adds customers like to embrace the anti-love day and have fun with it.
The bar is also dishing out some notable menu items for those with black hearts.
Beavis said it’s bringing back some food staples such as the “Just for me Nachos” and the onion “Rings of Regret.”
A spicy addition of “My Ex is the Devil” hot wings will also make an appearance this year according to Beavis.
One of the most-ordered items on the day is the “Treat Yo Self Shot” — which is a simple shot of tequila.
“We’re going to have some fun with it this year,” Beavis said, adding the celebration is great for those looking to commiserate or just enjoy themselves.
