The Regina Pats have pushed their winning streak to three games as they try to put some space between themselves and teams currently out of a playoff spot.
Regina beat the host Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 in WHL action Friday. Regina, which holds the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference, now has 59 points on the season — six ahead of the ninth-place Swift Current Broncos.
Regina got goals from Alexander Suzdalev, Matteo Michels, Stanislav Svozil and Connor Bedard.
Bedard’s goal, his 53rd of the season, came with 1:55 left in the game and proved to be the winner.
Brandon’s goals came off the sticks of Nolan Ritchie, Matthew Henry and Nate Danielson.
The Wheat Kings are 10th in the Eastern Conference with 52 points.
The Pats were outshot 47-19, but Drew Sim made 44 saves to help his team earn the victory.
A rematch between the two clubs is to take place on Saturday in Regina.
