10:00 – Yesterday the Governments of Saskatchewan and Canada announced that parent fees for regulated child care in the province will be reduced to $10 a day starting April 1, 2023. This fee reduction will benefit families whose children are under the age of six and attend regulated child care on a full-time basis. A total of 19,790 regulated child care spaces are operational in Saskatchewan across 144 communities as of December 31, 2022. Many of those regulated child care spaces are at capacity and families are now on waiting lists hoping to be able to access more affordable child care.
