The City of Regina is looking to dress up Dewdney.
The Dewdney Avenue Corridor Revitalization Project — a major construction project in the Warehouse District between Albert and Broad streets — is to be worked on during the 2023 and 2024 construction seasons.
On March 28, the city is hosting a public information session to unveil the final design of the corridor. The open house is set for 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at The Docks in the Weston Bakeries Building, 1377 Hamilton St.
“The need to replace aging underground infrastructure provides an opportunity to revitalize the surface, including a new road, sidewalks, lighting, patio space and landscaping,” the city said in a media release.
“These infrastructure improvements will transform this section of Dewdney Avenue into a more aesthetically pleasing and vibrant corridor for the public to enjoy with improved pedestrian and driver safety.”
The work is to be done in phases to keep traffic flowing along Dewdney in that area. The city said it will be co-ordinating “safe pedestrian and patron accessibility with businesses, retailers and restaurants.”
