People will be able to celebrate Regina’s rich and vibrant cultural diversity again in June.
For the first time since 2019, Mosaic is to be held in the Queen City. The 2023 festival is to run from June 1 to June 3.
Mosaic chair Nish Prasad told the Greg Morgan Morning Show on Tuesday that Mosaic is a tradition for Regina families and he’s really excited and thrilled to be able to host it this year.
“I’ve been getting phone calls from so many people (asking) if we (were) hosting Mosaic this year or not,” he said.
Prasad added there will be 18 tents and pavilions and everyone is invited to “travel the world” by visiting the festival.
“We are announcing a new thing this year. It’s ‘Tour, Taste and Experience,’ ” he said. “We look forward to welcoming everyone with the distinct energy and traditions of 18 different countries and the Queen City itself.”
The Latino pavilion will also be making a return this year, the chair said.
“(People) will be able to dance and sing with the mariachi Latino band and (there will be) dances from Latin countries, including Brazil,” Prasad said. “This is such a beautiful multicultural festival that celebrates diversity and inclusiveness, so I would say that this is a great event.”
The festival chair added organizers are always looking for volunteers and encouraged people to visit the Regina Multicultural Council on Broad Street if they’re interested in lending a hand.
“(Passports) will be available for sale starting the first week of May,” he said.
