A teen is facing charges after allegedly taking a gun to a get-together Saturday in Regina’s Glencairn Village neighbourhood.
In a media release Monday, police said officers were sent at about 8:20 p.m., to Young Crescent. They were told a 16-year-old boy had a gun at the gathering and, according to the release, “had left threatening to harm others.”
Officers identified the teen, who was under conditions of a release order to not have guns in his possession. He was arrested when he returned to his home, but officers didn’t find a gun.
The teen, who can’t be named under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, failing to comply with a disposition, and failing to comply with a release order.
He’s to appear in Youth Court on May 1.
