It’s a position they find themselves in just like they did in round one.
The Saskatoon Blades are playing from behind after dropping Game 1 to the Red Deer Rebels 3-1 on Friday night.
Now the Blades will be looking for a split before they head on the road for Games 3 and 4.
Blades head coach Brennan Sonne says his team has to stick to its identity after losing Game 1.
“We just have a lot better. Let’s have a Blades game, you know what I mean, that wasn’t really a Blades game. Let’s have a Blades game,” Sonne said Friday night.
“The most momentum we get is when we spend a shift in their end and change while we’re still in possession.”
Even though Saskatoon will be looking to tie up the series, Rebels head coach Steve Konowalchuk knows the Blades won’t go down easy.
“Let’s go back to work, put this one behind us and it’s going to be tougher next game,” the Rebels coach said postgame on Friday.
And ultimately they still have to win three more.
“They have to reset, I mean it’s a series. I think our guys know that, I think the other team knows that it’s a series and we got to reset,” Konowalchuk said.
It’s an important game for Saskatoon to avoid going down two games to none, even though they were able to overcome that against the Regina Pats last round.
Games 3 and 4 will take place in Red Deer on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Game 2 at SaskTel Centre gets underway Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.
