Scott Moe says he wants to continue serving as Saskatchewan’s premier.
The Saskatchewan Party announced Thursday that Moe will be seeking his fourth term as MLA for Rosthern-Shellbrook and leader of the province.
“It’s an honour to serve our great province,” Moe said in a release posted online.
“Saskatchewan’s economy is strong and that will be the choice in the next election – a choice between the Saskatchewan Party’s record of growth that works for everyone and the NDP’s record of no growth that didn’t work for anyone.”
Moe’s nomination will be made official on Friday, exactly 18 months from the next provincial election set for Oct. 28, 2024.
NDP chooses Noor Burki to run in Regina byelection
Voters in Regina Coronation Park will be going to the polls before the next provincial election.
New Democrats nominated Noor Burki on Thursday as their party’s candidate to run in a byelection to replace Mark Docherty, who resigned his seat in February.
Burki, a small business owner and educator, previously ran for the NDP in the 2020 general election.
The government previously stated a byelection would be held within six months of Docherty’s resignation.
