Construction on three major north-south roads in Regina is set to start next week.
Work on projects on Albert Street and McCarthy Boulevard is to get underway Monday, with construction on a stretch of Lewvan Drive to begin Tuesday.
In a release Friday, the city said all three projects will “renew the roadway” and replace concrete medians and sidewalks.
The $2.2-million project on Albert Street is to include work between Third and Seventh avenues.
The city said construction will begin in the northbound lanes. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but drivers should expect delays.
That project is expected to take about 18 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The McCarthy Boulevard project, which is to cost $2.3 million, will feature work between Ninth Avenue North and Sherwood Drive.
The first phase will start at Ninth Avenue North in the southbound lanes before moving south towards Sherwood Drive, the city said. After that is completed, crews will move into the northbound lanes.
In its release, the city said the work is expected to take about five months and, while two-way traffic will continue, delays are expected.
The construction on Lewvan Drive will be between Parliament and 11th avenues. The cost of that project is $2.4 million, the city said.
The first phase is to feature intersection improvements at Lewvan Drive and Regina Avenue, followed by paving of the northbound lanes from Parliament to Regina. Crews will then move north between Regina and 11th.
The city said two-way traffic will be maintained during the three-month-long project.
