Drivers in the Queen City won’t be getting the royal treatment on the road.
Major construction projects are expected to start this week and last for several weeks.
The City of Regina said in a new release Friday projects on Albert Street and McCarthy Boulevard are to begin on Monday, with construction on a section of Lewvan Drive beginning on Tuesday.
According to the city’s website, two-way traffic will be maintained throughout all three projects, but drivers should expect delays.
Construction on Albert Street will begin at Seventh Avenue in the northbound lanes and will move north in phases towards Third Avenue, the city said.
The Albert Street project is expected to take about 18 weeks to complete, depending on the weather.
The city’s website said Monday roadwork on McCarthy Boulevard will begin at Ninth Avenue North in the southbound lanes, moving south towards Sherwood Drive. Following that, crews will move into the northbound lanes.
Construction on McCarthy Boulevard is expected to last for about five months, weather permitting.
According to the City of Regina, Phase 1 of the Lewvan Drive project will begin with intersection improvements at Lewvan Drive and Regina Avenue, followed by paving the northbound lanes from Parliament Avenue to Regina Avenue.
The City said later this summer, crews will move north between Regina Avenue and 11th Avenue.
That project should take about three months to complete.
