A former NHLer residing in southwestern Saskatchewan is facing two charges after an alleged incident at Beaver Flats last month.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, David (Tiger) Williams was arrested and charged with one count of uttering a threat to cause death and one count of assault stemming from an April 10 occurrence.
The Swift Current RCMP received a call about the matter at 2:54 p.m. and responded immediately. Police said the other man allegedly involved did not sustain injuries or require medical attention.
The former Swift Current Broncos forward was released from custody and made his first court appearance Wednesday in Swift Current Provincial Court.
Williams played in 962 NHL games and is the league’s record holder for all-time penalty minutes.
