11:00 – The federal government is phasing out the chemical pentachlorophenol used to protect wood power poles from decaying. The province and producers are worried this could several impact the power grid. Perry Vermette, the Owner of Vermette Wood Preservers, one of the producers of wood power poles, joins Gormley to explain how this ban will impact production and could put him out of business.

11:30 – Do we need body cameras on youth officials to help stop the abuse of officials? As many youth sports have a shortage of officials, would body cameras to stop abuse help the situation? The Ontario Soccer Association is launching a pilot project that came from the U.K. to equip their officials with body cameras to capture any physical or mental abuse.

Drowning claims the lives of more than 400 Canadians annually, most happening during the summer months. Lewis Smith is the Manager of National Projects for the Canada Safety Council.
