8:30 – Wildfires continue to rage in the province, with 30 wildfires still burning. Saskatchewan has had 212 fires this year, with the Northern communities experiencing most of them. Steve Roberts is the vice president of the operations division for the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency and joins Gormley to give us an update on the wildfires.

10:00 – 8,000 small businesses could close their doors in Saskatchewan if the federal government keeps the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) loan repayment date the same. If nothing is done, some businesses in the recreation, hospitality and service sectors will have to close by the end of 2023. Brianna Solberg is the Director of Legislative Affairs of Prairies and Northern Canada for the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses (CFIB)/ She joins Gormley to explain what thousands of these businesses are facing if they don’t get the help they need.

12:00 – The Nature Conservancy of Canada has launched the largest conservation efforts to protect native Prairie Grasslands. The Action plan looks to restore 500,000 hectares of Prairie Grasslands, which have steadily declined and are disappearing faster than the Amazon rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Cameron Wood is the Regional Director for the Nature Conservancy of Canada in Saskatchewan and joins Gormley to chat about the importance of maintaining the Prairie Grasslands.
