A Biggar-area company is facing a fine after a worker was hurt while removing a seized pin from an overhead travelling crane.
According to the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, AGI Envirotank Ltd. pleaded guilty to one violation of provincial occupational health and safety rules in a Biggar courtroom earlier this month.
According to the ministry, the company failed to give notice as soon as reasonably possible after a workplace accident that required a worker to be admitted to hospital for 72 hours or more.
The ministry said company was fined $1,500 and a $600 surcharge, for a total of $2,100, while two additional charges were withdrawn.
