Brandt has released a statement regarding a workplace accident in Moose Jaw that took place on Wednesday afternoon that resulted in the death of an employee.
The statement said the incident involved a third-party crane company that resulted in the death of an employee at Brandt’s manufacturing facility.
Brandt confirmed the employee was a supervisor at the Moose Jaw facility and had been working for the company for nine years.
The statement extended condolences to the worker’s family. The company is co-ordinating grief counsellors to aid employees during this time.
Brandt said the exact cause of the accident is unknown at this time and Brandt and Occupational Health and Safety are investigating.
Out of respect for the family and the ongoing investigations, Brandt said it will not be commenting further.

“On the afternoon of August 16, 2023, a work-related incident occurred at Brandt’s Moose Jaw manufacturing site involving a third-party crane company that has resulted in the death of a Brandt employee. The worker was a Supervisor at Brandt’s Moose Jaw location and was a valued member of the Brandt Family for nine years.
“Brandt has extended its deepest condolences to the worker’s family and is co-ordinating grief counsellors to aid employees in this especially difficult time. The exact cause of the incident is unknown at this time and the incident is under investigation by both Brandt and Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety.
“Out of respect for the family and due to the ongoing investigation, Brandt will not be commenting further at this time.”
According to a Moose Jaw Police Service press release, police, fire and EMS were called at approximately 12:40 p.m. at the Brandt facility for an industrial accident where a 26-year-old man had been pronounced dead.
