Charles Burton is a Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and a former Canadian diplomat at Canada’s embassy in Beijing. He joins Gormley to explain if Xi Jinping can avoid another political threat to his power.

10:00 – The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security released the Baseline Cyber Threat Assessment on Cybercrime in Canada. It shows that over the next two years, there will be an increase in financially motivated cybercrimes. Rajiv Gupta, the Associate Head of the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, joins Gormley to discuss why Canada is seeing an increase in cybercrime.

11:00 – Saskatchewan RCMP plans to have at least one drone in every detachment across the province by April 2024. This is part of the “Expansion Project” to help cover larger areas and help respond to unfolding incidents. Inspector Devin Pugh is the Officer in Charge of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Support Services Section. He joins Gormley to explain how this will impact not just policing but the communities.

12:00 – The Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry is on a fact-finding mission in Saskatchewan. They will be meeting agricultural experts and farms as part of their look into the soil health of the country.
