8:30 – As an effort to avoid increasing property taxes in Saskatoon, a city committee has proposed adding an accommodation tax to help generate revenue for a new downtown arena in the city. Discover Saskatoon CEO, Steph Clovechuk, joins Gormley to offer more information about the newly-proposed fee.

Gormley discusses political vanity and popular looks, including Jagmeet Singh’s Rolex watch and Pierre Poilievre’s recent makeover. Should politicians who represent the everyday person wear and/or own expensive items?

But bats are facing a fatal fungal disease, called White-nose Syndrome, that is threatening their survival. Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan are studying the disease. Outreach Coordinator Lauren MacDonald joins Gormley to share more about the study.
