A fight involving multiple students at a Regina school ended with a 15-year-old boy allegedly pulling out what police called a “bladed weapon.”
According to police, a school resource officer was called after a fight involving multiple students broke out just inside the front doors of a school in the 200 block of Argyle Street early Monday afternoon. Police didn’t name the school directly, but the location corresponds with Thom Collegiate.
“The officer was able to stop the initial altercation but following that, one of the students, who was being guided away from the area by a staff member, pulled out a bladed weapon,” police said in a statement.
Police said the officer was able to wrestle the weapon away from the student and arrest the student without anyone getting hurt.
The 15-year-old – who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act – is now charged with possession of a weapon, and is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Youth Court on Nov. 2.
