10:00 – One week ago, NDP MP Blake Desjarlais stood in the House of Commons in response to policies by the Saskatchewan government that premier Scott Moe plans to use the notwithstanding clause to invoke. Desjarlais demanded the federal government take action to prevent Canadian children from policies like these — referring to the policy regarding a school’s disclosure of children’s pronouns which has been halted by Saskatchewan courts presently — claiming they are harmful. He joins Taylor MacPherson to talk more about the NDP’s stance on this issue.

11:30 – Tailings are the mine waste left behind after removing precious and critical minerals. That waste can often contain harmful chemicals and heavy metals that can pollute soil, water and crops. A team of researchers at the University of Queensland is using the Canadian Light Source at the University of Saskatchewan to turn those harmful tailings into healthy soil. Professor and researcher, Longbin Huang, tells Taylor MacPherson how and what their innovative discovery means.
