One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a gun call in Moose Jaw’s downtown core Monday afternoon.
Police say that the victim and the accused, an 18-year-old man, are known to each other and that it wasn’t a random attack. The suspect was arrested by officers.
In a release, police said an altercation began between the accused and the victim in a public location before they entered a downtown business.
In an update sent Tuesday, police said the suspect had been charged with one count each of discharging an airgun with the intent to wound, and carrying a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.
Police said the victim received multiple facial wounds in the incident. The gun was found to be an airgun that was capable of shooting pellets.
The accused is to make his first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Wednesday.
