The RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who has been charged with manslaughter.
On Tuesday, the Mounties said a warrant had been issued for 34-year-old Nolan Bird, who has been charged in connection with the death of David Lapointe.
On March 13, 2022 at around 2:45 a.m., officers from the Battlefords RCMP detachment were called to a house in the 1600 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford. When officers arrived, they found a 61-year-old man dead inside the residence.
The victim subsequently was identified as Lapointe. Police haven’t released his cause of death.
Bird is described as being about 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, as well as tattoos on his neck and under one eye. Police say he may be in the Saskatoon, Battlefords or Edmonton areas, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
Anyone who sees Bird is urged to not approach him, but instead to call their local police service, their local RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
