Two men are facing multiple charges after a vehicle allegedly was stolen and the chase ended on foot.
The Regina Police Service said that around 9:35 a.m. on Friday, officers found a stolen vehicle in the 1000 block of Edgar Street. Police successfully deployed a spike belt and the vehicle came to stop in the 600 block of Park Street. From there, the driver and passenger ran.
One of the suspects was found shortly after and arrested. The other was located with the help of the Canine Unit, which tracked the man to the top of a transport truck in a parking lot. Officers eventually talked the man off the truck and took him into custody.
After conducting a search of the area, Regina police said the Canine Unit also found a bag with a loaded gun and ammunition.
A 34-year-old man is facing 11 charges that include unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and six counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
A 51-year-old man is facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
The men made their first appearances in court on Monday.
