The Wadena RCMP is investigating a mini-crime wave in the town.
In a media release Friday, the Mounties said they were investigating three break-ins in the community. Someone broke into:
the food bank and stole gift cards;
the curling rink and stole a sum of cash; and
the funeral home and stole a small amount of change.
Police said the break-ins happened late Thursday or early Friday. According to the release, investigators believe the incidents are connected, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
The Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Identification Services has joined the investigation.
Anyone who saw suspicious activity in Wadena late Thursday or early Friday or who captured anything on surveillance video was urged to call the Wadena RCMP at 306-338-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
