The woman facing more than 80 charges related to white powder scares and bomb threats in Saskatoon has a new lawyer.
Alexa Emerson is now being represented by Patrick Mcdougall, a well-known defence lawyer in the city.
Mcdougall has represented defendants in the Project Forsetti trials. He also worked with Eugene Krawchuk, who was convicted of shooting a neighbour’s dog to death in 2013.
He replaces Lisa Watson, who had to step aside after finding a conflict of interest with Emerson while going through court documents.
Emerson’s first lawyer, Brian Pfefferle, withdrew after she was accused of sending a white powder package to his office in March.
Morris Bodnar stepped in for Pfefferle, but withdrew a few weeks later for an unknown reason.
Emerson is due to appear in court by video on May 30.
