Someone with very little holiday spirit stole items from a church in the community of Moffat sometime between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
According to the RCMP, officers from the Indian Head detachment got a call Dec. 25 at around 5:30 p.m., reporting a break-and-enter at the church.
Police were told the break-in happened sometime between the afternoon of Dec. 24 and the evening of Dec. 25.
An RCMP media release said things inside the building were damaged and the thief/thieves cut out wiring, including the wiring to 240-volt heaters inside the church.
Officers also found that a 50-foot rug, a heating unit, some bins and a number of candles and candle holders were stolen.
Moffat is about 115 kilometres southeast of Regina.
The Indian Head RCMP is continuing to investigate and asked anyone who saw anything suspicious in Moffat on Dec. 24 or Dec. 25 to call 306-695-5200.
Information can also be submitted anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
The Wadena RCMP has been dealing with a rash of break-ins of late, with two curling rinks, a food bank, a funeral home and a seniors centre among the places hit by the burglars.
