'Where is she?' Family of Kandice Singbeil appeals for info

The family of Kandice Marie Singbeil is still searching for answers more than two years after the Swift Current woman’s mysterious disappearance.

Singbeil was last seen riding her signature Supercycle Cruiser Classic bicycle in downtown Saskatoon on May 26, 2015. 

 City police have been actively investigating the disappearance, which is being treated as suspicious.

“Two long years have passed and still no news, no answers and no reasons – nothing,” the family wrote in a statement Monday. “Where is she? Does anyone know? Somebody does.”

Singbeil, known by her friends as Kea, would now be 34 years old. 

At the time of her disappearance, Singbeil had dyed blonde hair cut just above the shoulders and brown eyes. She’s five feet four inches tall and weighs 166 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black jacket and dark-coloured pants.

Singbeil is originally from Swift Current, but was living in Saskatoon at the time of her disappearance. 

In their statement, the family said Singbeil’s son is now 10 years old, with a two-year-old baby sister who only knows her mother through “pictures and our memories.”

“So very sad and unbearable at times,” the family wrote, adding they work to keep Singbeil in the children’s lives through special traditions.

“On Sept. 18, we each have a cupcake with a candle to celebrate her birthday then make a wish for mom and blow out the candle,” they wrote. “Christmas Eve, (her children) Nethan and Kaestin hang an angel ornament on the tree for mom – one for each year.”

Last Friday, a Tree of Hope was planted in Singbeil’s honour at the Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter – called Dorie’s House – in Swift Current.
