More adult players are now investing in the protective equipment.
Access to Tower Road from Highway 1 and 33 will be shut down for good to drivers beginning Saturday, weather permitting.
The permanent closure is due to continued work on the Regina Bypass.
Drivers will be re-directed to the new south service road. That runs east of the bypass and connects Highway 33 with Gravel Pit Road and beyond.
According to the Regina Bypass website, Prince of Wales Drive is the city’s preferred route for traffic travelling between Arcola Avenue and Victoria Avenue if the service road is not a practical alternative.
Access to Tower Road can still be found via Primrose Green Drive and other city street connectors.
