It’s been dry and hot in Regina – the perfect kind of day to frolic at a spray pad.
Regina’s are opening just in time.
They officially open on Friday, but some were up and running earlier.
“We can’t open them all on the same day. It takes time for staff to go through and open each of the spray pads and make sure everything is working,” said Janine Daradich, the city’s coordinator of recreation facility development.
The Maple Ridge spray pad is the only one not open. Due to repairs, it’ll open at a later date.
It’ll also be a couple more weeks until the city’s pool are operational. They are set to open on June 15, but that’s depending on the weather.
“We would have to have quite a bit of rainy and cool weather to push that back,” Daradich said.
Whether you fancy a splash or a swim, Daradich hopes you take advantage of the city’s recreational facilities, calling it “an opportunity for people to come together in the community and enjoy each other’s company.”
