Wascana Lake will be shakin’ again in August.
The Shake the Lake music festival is returning to Regina, with shows Aug. 23 and Aug. 24 in front of the Conexus Arts Centre.
Conexus Arts Centre CEO Neil Donnelly told the Greg Morgan Morning Show on Tuesday that putting the event together was so difficult this year that organizers had to make a change.
“This year has been particularly challenging to the extent that we actually changed our dates to accommodate this lineup,” Donnelly told Morgan.
“We were going Aug. 30-31 — which is a long weekend which we knew wasn’t going to be a (Saskatchewan Roughriders) game on those two days because the game’s on Sunday — so we were planning it all out and we just couldn’t put the lineup together.
“We weren’t happy with what was out there (and) how much they were costing.”
So organizers moved the show to a week earlier and got a lineup with which they’re happy.
The show Aug. 23 is to feature Alfie Zappacosta (4:30 p.m.), Sweet (5:45 p.m.), Streetheart (7:15 p.m.) and Glass Tiger (9 p.m.).
The Aug. 24 lineup is to comprise Nick Gilder with Sweeney Todd (4:30 p.m.), Sass Jordan (5:45 p.m.), Steven Page (7:15 p.m.) and George Thorogood and the Destroyers (9 p.m.).
Donnelly said early bird tickets are to go on sale Thursday at noon. There will be 945 early bird tickets, and then regular prices will be charged after that.
Day passes are to go on sale May 1.
