The project that’s upgrading water meters in Regina is more than half done.
The City of Regina said in a media release Thursday that more than 44,000 meters have been installed to date, meaning the project is now more than 57 per cent complete.
Homes in Ward 8 in Regina’s west end are next to get the new meters.

Homeowners in the ward soon will receive an information sheet about how to book appointments over the next few months. The release said the work typically can be done during an appointment that lasts between 30 and 90 minutes.
“Soon, a new customer service system will be available to all customers,” the release said. “This system will allow customers to access account information, view and understand their household water usage.
“It also offers an opportunity for customers to sign up for electronic notifications about planned water outages and consumption alerts for high water use, empowering them to save water and money.”
