Deputy Fire Chief Dustin McCullough said Regina Fire and Protective Services received calls about the fire in the 4000 block of Montague Street shortly after 2:30 p.m.
McCullough said two houses were on fire.
“The house to the north (was) the original house on fire and with the high winds there today, that fire did extend into the neighbouring house on the south,” McCullough said.
The deputy chief said both fires were under control within 30 minutes. All occupants were safely evacuated prior to Regina Fire’s arrival.
McCullough said an investigator was looking into the cause of the fire, but as of now, there isn’t any indication of what caused the blaze.
“The investigation will carry on throughout (Monday) and into (Tuesday) for sure,” he said.
Four pumper trucks and a ladder truck were on the scene of the fire, as well as a medical response unit.

There was quite a large black cloud of smoke when I first arrived. The command unit is still confirming if anyone is hurt. pic.twitter.com/iwVYUxsu1u
