A police investigation is underway after the body of a woman was found Friday morning at the Loraas Recycle facility on First Avenue North.
However, police said in a release that the woman’s death “is not believed to be suspicious in nature.”
The release didn’t elaborate on why police had come to that conclusion, nor did it provide any details about the woman or the cause of her death.
According to police, officers responded to the facility in the Kelsey Woodlawn neighbourhood at around 10 a.m., after getting a call that a body had been found at the recycling facility in the 1900 block of First Avenue North.
“Preliminary investigation suggests the body to have been transported to the facility in a bin that was to be emptied,” the police said in a release.
While they don’t believe foul play was involved in the woman’s death, the police said their Major Crime Section and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service will be investigating.
