The Queen City Ex is making a return this summer, and this year will be the event’s 140th anniversary.
The event will run for 5 days, beginning on July 31 and coming to a close on August 4. This year will see the return of many beloved events, as well as the introduction of some new ones.
The Original 16 Stage in Confederation Park returns with a star-studded lineup. General admission to the concerts will be included with the gate admission passes, but for an enhanced experience visitors can purchase premium passes, which include access to the VIP Patio or a front-row spot in the Fan Zone.
As for the concerts this year, there’s quite a diverse lineup. This year’s schedule will include:
- The Regina Symphony Orchestra and fireworks on July 31
- Our Lady Peace on Aug. 1
- Ludacris on Aug. 2
- Jess Moskaluke on Aug. 3
- Trooper on Aug. 4
If music isn’t your thing, then the Pile O’ Bones Rodeo might be. The rodeo will be back again this year on Thursday, August 1 and Friday, Aug. 2 at the Brandt Centre.
The rodeo will feature athletes competing in a series of adrenaline-fueled events, including bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling and more. New to the rodeo this year is the premium rodeo fan zone, which provides reserved seating and dedicated table service for food and beverages.
Rider Game Day at the Queen City Ex is back again this year. Fans with tickets to the Saturday game against the Edmonton Elks will receive free admission to Ex on the same day.
Another long-running event that’s making a comeback in 2024 is the mini-donut eating competition, organized by the Regina Food Bank. Joey Chestnut, the world’s top eating champion, will return to challenge his previous record of 304 mini donuts consumed in eight minutes and compete against local eaters. This event will be held at the Original 16 Stage in Confederation Park on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 3 p.m.
One new addition to this year’s event is the QCX Midway 5K Fun Run, which will be followed by a free pancake breakfast.
