Rebecca Strong, who was catapulted to fame after winning the million-dollar prize on Canada’s Got Talent last month, will make a halftime performance during an upcoming Saskatchewan Rattlers game in Saskatoon.
Strong, a member of the Black Lake Denesuline First Nation who was born in Black Lake and grew up in Prince Albert, wowed audiences and judges alike with her vocal performance on the nationally televised talent show, winning the fourth season.
She’s set to perform at the game on June 20, as the Rattlers take on the Calgary Surge and mark First Nations Night at SaskTel Centre.
Listen to Rebecca Strong’s interview with The Evan Bray Show after her big win:
“We are incredibly excited to have an international recording star from Saskatchewan perform at our First Nations Night,” Lee Genier, the team’s president, said in a statement.
“We welcome all communities around Saskatchewan to celebrate with us ahead of National Indigenous Peoples Day.”
Tickets can be found on the team’s website.
