Summer is here and so is storm season.
Environment Canada said severe thunderstorms are possible in southeast parts of the province as an upper low from Manitoba moves into the province.
Chris Stammers, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said the warnings are very localized.
“We currently have two severe warning storms,” he said. “One is north of Carlyle and the other one is just south of Melville.”
Environment Canada said a severe thunderstorm is capable of producing strong winds, nickel-sized hail and heavy rain.
Stammers is concerned about the hail.
“We are largely concerned about severe hail with these storms so in the nickel to quarter-sized hail.”
He said the storm is quickly moving out of the province and warnings shouldn’t last long.
“They are moving out of the province in the next couple of hours,” he said. “So really it’s just a couple more hours of severe weather but it’s very very localized right now.”
Areas in the thunderstorm watch stretch from Wolseley to Rocanville all the way south to the US border.
