Two women are facing murder charges in connection with the death of 42-year-old Christopher Joseyounen on the Hatchet Lake First Nation.
According to the RCMP, officers were called to the First Nation in northern Saskatchewan on Saturday evening after getting a report that a man had been seriously injured at a local home.
“Investigation has determined that an altercation occurred between a group of individuals. As a result of the altercation, an adult male was seriously injured and was later declared deceased at the clinic,” the RCMP said in a statement.

Police said the victim was identified as Joseyounen, and his family has been informed of the death.
One woman was arrested at the scene, the RCMP said, and a second woman was arrested on Sunday.
Tricia St. Pierre, a 36-year-old woman from Hatchet Lake, and Tinnisha Josie, an 18-year-old from Wollaston Lake, are both facing charges of second-degree murder. Both are scheduled to appear in court in Wollaston Lake on Wednesday.
Joseyounen’s death remains under police investigation, and anyone with information was asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
