It’s time again to celebrate everything farming at Ag in Motion — the largest outdoor farm expo in Western Canada.
Located at Discovery Farm Langham near Saskatoon, the 610 acre property will host over 600 exhibitors and more than 30,000 attendees from today until July 18.
Show director Rob O’Connor met with 650CKOM on the event grounds to discuss what visitors can expect to see this year, when the expo is highlighting all the advancements in farm technology.
“We are putting a pilot project together of about one dozen antique tractors… We are highlighting the past as well. There will be some tractors here from 1928 to 1965,” O’Connor said.
“What you’ll see at the show is a lot of what represents the prairie provinces when it comes to agriculture. So you’ll be able to see equipment that the farmers use, the different crops that they use, all the different varieties … you’ll see 100 acres of everything that represents western Canadian agriculture.”

Ag in Motion first began in 2015 with a small expo in Saskatoon. Now, almost 10 years later, the event has grown significantly.
“The very first year we had 200 exhibitors and they were all located in about a third of the space we utilize now for the trade show,” O’Connor said.
This year also marks Ag in Motion’s 7th annual Field of STARS campaign presented by Nutrien. Proceeds from ticket sales contribute directly to the STARS mission of providing critical care, anywhere.
“Obviously (as) western Canadian prairie provinces, we utilize that service so much so we want to support back into that service that helps us.” O’Connor explained.
“I believe there are about 1,100 people signed up to be at that event… I expect they will raise between $500,000 and $600,000 on Tuesday night.”
O’Connor said it is important that the expo has strong community roots and that vendors from all around the area can come to the event.
“With our show here in Langham, we really do want to stay local… We try to utilize the restaurants here in Langham, we try to rent vehicles from Saskatoon, we keep all our staff in Saskatoon. We hire people that are just our next door neighbors to help us maintain this site.”
Anyone looking to attend this years Ag in Motion expo can purchase tickets on their website.
